Anna Gallaher, a graduating senior at Southwestern High School, is the recent recipient of a $500 scholarship from Community Bankers Association of Illinois (CBAI). CNB Bank & Trust sponsored this state-wide scholarship competition which enabled Illinois high school seniors to compete in a statewide essay-writing contest. The competition is part of a program sponsored by Illinois community banks and the CBAI Foundation for Community Banking to increase public awareness of locally owned banks and their contributions to the community.

Anna is the daughter of Randall and Karen Gallaher of Brighton, IL. She was selected from a pool of several applicants who submitted entries on why having a trusted partner, such as a community bank, is so valuable during the global pandemic. Anna is a member of the National Honor Society, Student Government Class President, and a member of the Future Medical Leaders of America. In addition, she received second place at the National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition, a member of the varsity basketball team, Color Guard Captain, and a member of the Spanish Club. Gallaher plans to attend either Belmont University or Millikin University to major in Commercial Music with a minor in Business.
